Rachel A. R Shaw, Composer

Rachel A. R. Shaw a Canadian composer of impressionistic music, found her love for melodies and soundscapes at an early age. It wasn’t surprising to find her watching a movie on silent while improvising her own soundtracks on her toy keyboard and playing whatever she heard by ear.   Performing her first original composition at the age of 12, she went on to work for Tourism Nova Scotia as a performer and studied composition under composer Andrew Paul Macdonald at Bishops and Concordia universities where a few of her original pieces for piano, as well as  ensembles were premiered.  She currently resides in Montreal, Canada continuing her musical journey with intrinsically motivated and emotionally driven soundscapes.
